Wedding at Catlin Gardens

Stephanie and James got married at the Catlin Gardens on a beautiful summer day in 2011. They got ready at the Inn on premises, so everything happened in just one place. Flowers by KM Designs. Here some of the images and video, enjoy.

Happy New Year

It’s has been a while since our last blog, but we have been constantly updating our facebook page with the  latest. We are ready to begin another great year, and we’re starting our wedding season by attending winter bridal shows.

The first bridal show of the year at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, was a great success; and we’re now we’re looking forward to the biggest bridal show of the year in the Hudson Valley, at Anthony’s Pier 9 on Superbowl Day.

Wedding at the Grandview

Alison and Brian got married at the Grandview in the scenic Hudson Valley. Everything was just wonderful, starting with the weather and the beautiful location. The staff is very attentive and great to work with. Of course DJ  Bri Swatek provided great entertainment to complete the experience.

wedding at the Grand Hotel

Marylouise and Michael wanted a fun wedding, without too many hassles. They chose to have everything done at the same location, so they could spend more time enjoying the celebrations. Also, they desired a more photo-journalistic look to record the event, and they ask mostly for candid photos. Here are some of their photos we took last fall at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel.

Kelly and David

Kelly and David chose a mansion as a backdrop to their wedding portraits. Great choice, as you can tell by these photos taken by my talented associate photographers. The party was a blast, as DJ Andrew of Enriquez Entertainment  did what he knows best.

style

I wanted to take a minute by talking about a few element that are often a part of my photographic style. Of course I do not subscribe to a one and only approach, but I like to offer a great variety of stylistic elements ideal to advancement of the romantic narrative. As you can see throughout my postings, I like to incorporate “lens flares” (sun rays), “silhouettes” (black outline of people) and “dutch angles” (crooked photo) into some of my photographs. Well, I just wanted to say that is purely intentional, as I do like the viewing effect that it creates. I always think of how I would interpret the scene if I only had  paint, a brush, and a canvas.

fall wedding at Terrapin Catering

Jackie and Jake chose a to have their wedding in the fall in a beautiful setting. The New York Hudson Valley is one of the most beautiful places on earth, and the  autumn colors  add even more beauty to this gorgeous backdrop. We took some photos at Bard College, then we headed to the Dinsmore just in time to catch the sunset on the golf course. Terrapin catering offers a great vista of the sunset as well as great food and friendly staff.dinsmore

wedding at Villa Barone

Courtney and Chris were married on a very popular day, 10/10/10. They had their wedding at Villa Barone Hilltop Manor in Mahopac, NY. The weather was great and everything was just spectacular.

Some of the shots were taken at the boat-house owned by VB.

spring is here

Even though it does not feel like it, spring is here. Despite some late snow storms, we’re celebrating the new season with fun shots of our two year old daughter. Yes, we finally got some shots in time for Easter.

Enjoy spring, when it will eventually arrive.
